Rose Care Tips 101:
#1 Trim your stems
After travelling to you, the end of your stems will be hard and dry, making it hard for them to rehydrate and absorb water nutrients. Trim at least 3cm off your stems, and cut them at an angle so they have the most surface area to drink from!
#2 Remove the leaves below waterline
Take off any leaves that will fall below your waterline, otherwise they’ll deteriorate, dirty the water and encourage bacterial growth. This will make them fade and wilt faster.
#3 Remove the outer guard petals
Got some bruised-looking outer petals? These are called guard petals. We leae them on as they act like bubble wrap, protecting the inner petals en route to you. Simply pinch them off from the base and this will help them bloom. As the petals are browning, removing the dead petals will reveal prettier petals beneath and make your bunch look full of colour for longer!
#4 Keep them away from direct sunlight
To care for your Roses properly, you should keep them in a cool place away from direct sunlight. Windowsills and warm, bright rooms aren’t recommended as they’re dehydrating, which makes them wilt quicker. Also, keep them away from fresh fruits! It might sound random, but fruits releases natrual gasses that actually make flowers fade faster.
#5 Trim and change vase water daily
To make them last longer, you’ll need to re-trim them by at least 1cm and refresh their vase water daily. This would help them to absorb all the water nutrients to stay fresher for longer.
