11 reasons why we should be thankful
Can you believe it’s already November? This month, we wanted to show extra appreciation for all the incredible everyday moments. Every day, amazing things happen that we’re not always aware of – we admit it is easier to focus on what we don’t have. Days that we consider “normal” are full of meaningful moments that turn into mindless routines. Happiness isn’t found just in extraordinary events, but also in the simple, beautiful moments that we often take for granted.
Here are our #11ReasonsWhy we are thankful, and we hope we’ll inspire you to reflect too:
Parents : Although we may not tell them as often as we should, our parents deserve more thanks and recognition than we could ever fit into one day. These superheroes play such a huge part in our lives and we tend to take them for granted. Give them a big hug or if you’re apart give them a call. Plus we’re also delivering fresh veggies from Cameron, if you ever needed to send some extra love!
Friends : Your BFF Staying up till midnight to wish you a happy birthday? Tagging you in memes and inside jokes? Having honest late night conversations or moments where you laugh so hard till you cry… Friends are the family we choose for ourselves, and without them life wouldn’t be the same. It doesn’t matter if you’re not there, send them some flowers and cakes! The next time you meet them, don’t forget to thank them because at the end of the day, it’s not where you are in life, it’s who you have by your side that matters.
Siblings : From holidays, birthdays and life events – siblings make your life that much better to experience it with. Even through all the hair pulling, bickering and fighting – let’s be real, that’s just a sibling way of expressing your love. Besides, we know that we’ll never actually kill them if they have our backs!
Pets : Anyone who has ever owned a pet knows how much love and joy they bring. From greeting us at the door with waggy tails when we get home, to the endless cuddle sessions and unconditional love – I think we can all agree that we are very thankful for them. Don’t forget to give them a big hug (and a treat or two) just to let them know how much they mean to you.
Significant Other : It’s common that we forget to say thank you to our loved ones for everything they do for us – even the little things. In relationships, appreciation and gratitude goes a long way, it’s really the small moments of recognition that make us feel that we’re truly loved. Saying ‘Thank You’ is a great start but not always good enough. Simple things like switching up the ways you express gratitude can help, like showing up with their favourite snacks or surprising them with flowers #justbecause!
Front-liners : To the doctors and nurses working tireless through this pandemic, the riders who still deliver food and parcels, the cleaners who are doubling up to keep places extra sanitised… To all our everyday heroes – thank you! In these challenging times, you are the ones making a huge difference risking it all to do your jobs and help those in need.
Work Space : Whether you love or hate your job, you should definitely be thankful for it – especially during these times where being employed is a blessing. Definitely much easier to complain about work than appreciate it, so let’s do this together. Showing gratitude to your co-workers can bring so much positivity to your workspace and make their day!
Teachers & Mentors : Whether it’s your high school teacher, college lecturer, work mentor – they definitely have all impacted our lives in a significant amount. We wouldn’t have gotten those grades or be where we are today without them! Don’t wait till it’s Teacher’s Day to show your appreciation, all the other days of the year are perfect to let them know too.
Home : Thankful for having a roof over our heads, whether it’s an apartment, a mansion or a tent. A safe place to WFH, do online classes, and a place to call home. Thankful for technology for allowing us to still stay closely connected with loved ones. Since all of us are spending more time at home, it’ll be good to remove some clutter, beautify your home and add a pop of green! Now delivering plants to you, to help clean the air and bring positive vibes for your home.
Memories : It’s important to focus on gratitude, and be appreciate the precious everyday moments. Including pre-covid days, and today’s new normal. Remember when we could travel countries, or simply just step out of the house without wearing a mask? Those were the little freedom perks that we definitely took for granted, and we’re sure heaps of you are missing it now!
YOU : Do you take every day to enjoy and be thankful for the small things in life? Significant events don’t occur everyday, while small ones happen almost daily! When you neglect the little things, you miss out on enjoying a chunk of your life. Continuously chasing after grand achievements can negatively affect your mental health. So don’t forget to enjoy the simple things, take a moment to reward and pamper yourself. You deserve it!
Now, it is more important than ever to focus on gratitude. Focus on the silver linings, count your blessings and stop to smell the roses. Flowers can provide a cheerful burst for yourself to take on the positive (or negative) days ahead. They also make a great pick-me-up to let your loved ones know you’re thinking of them.
Whether it’s to treat yourself or to send your love to someone else, we could all use a little extra ray of sunshine.
Send happiness in a form of flowers, plants & gifts today!
